Plant Trees In New York
Why Plant in New York?
With high population counts and much of Manhattan at or below sea level, climate change poses significant risks to New York’s communities and infrastructure.
- Sea levels along New York's ocean coast are approximately a foot higher than in 1900
- Economically important species of trees, such as spruce and maple, could disappear from the Adirondack and other New York forests with increased temperatures from climate change.
