Why Plant Trees?

Trees are beautiful,
but they’re also powerful.

As the oldest and largest living organisms on earth, trees support life and keep the natural balance of our planet. They also play a fundamental role in climate change. Each year, a single tree has the ability to remove 48 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air. Multiply that by one, two, ten million!
That’s a formidable force!

This is a naturally occurring cycle for trees. When trees grow, they absorb CO2 from the air. Using energy from the sun, they in turn use the stored carbon molecules as the building blocks for their trunks, branches, and foliage. This is all part of the carbon cycle.

Unfortunately, at a critical juncture in the future of our planet, more trees are being destroyed than planted. We need to hurry and get more into the ground before time runs out. And that time is not all that far away. Many scientists refer to the year 2100 as the tipping point; the year when the devastation becomes almost irreversible.

We don’t need fancy technologies to help combat the greatest threat to our existence. All we need are the very things that already help sustain life: trees. Planting trees remains one of the simplest, cheapest, and most effective means of drawing excess CO2 from the atmosphere.

Together, we can make a positive chance.
Planting a tree is a great place to start.
